About

Introverted Girlfriends® is one of the largest and fastest growing community & membership programs for introverted women. We inspire and educate introverted women by giving them the tools to become more confident, take charge of their lives, and put themselves out there. Our community consists of in-person Meetup groups of over 2,200 members in 14 different cities and a virtual group of over 16,500 members.

Introverted Girlfriends® all started in September 2014 by Janaya Sadler after moving to Charlotte, NC. Being the new girl in a new city, she felt lost in the crowd. After attending a series of social events with no meaningful interactions, she had a light bulb moment. She recognized the need to create an outlet for introverted women. She decided to organize a chapter on www.meetup.com to give introverts, who many label as shy and standoffish, a safe space to get together in small groups to network and build friendships.

Janaya later moved to Raleigh, NC, and opened a new Meetup chapter there, while Sophia White stepped up to lead the Charlotte chapter. Both groups continued to grow and both Janaya and Sophia recognized there was a demand for other chapters in cities across the United States. This partnership formally started in October 2016 and the ownership expanded to include Brenda Bea in January 2019.

Together their mission is to inspire and educate introverted women by giving them the tools to become more confident, take charge of their lives, and put themselves out there.
